5. Abstract Guidelines

The abstract must be a single paragraph (200-250 words) structured as follows:

  • Background: What problem does this research address?
  • Objectives: What is the purpose of the study?
  • Method: What approach, data, or methods were used?
  • Findings: What are the main results?
  • Originality/Value: What is new and why does it matter?

Example:

*This study examines the impact of cash waqf distribution on poverty alleviation in West Java, Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys (n=320) and in-depth interviews with 12 waqf beneficiaries, we analyze changes in income, consumption, and asset ownership over a 12-month period. The findings indicate that cash waqf recipients experienced a 23% increase in monthly income and a 15% reduction in food insecurity compared to the control group. However, the sustainability of these effects depends on accompanying entrepreneurial training. This research contributes to the limited empirical literature on productive waqf and offers practical recommendations for nazhir (waqf managers) in designing more effective disbursement mechanisms.*
